The enrollment fee is N3,500 as accepted by the Federal Government recently.
Ndukwe clarified that the decrease followed recommendations made by Board and management of JAMB into the authorities since it was getting hard for some parents to increase the N5,000 now charged by the board.
While commending the government for approving the decrease, Ndukwe Said that the decrease may affect the board’s remittance to the national government in the next year.
“You’re aware that the federal government has decreased the price of JAMB Form from N5,000 to N3,500 but it will take effect from next year.
“Therefore, if we start selling the types now, We’ll still sell At the price of N5,000 since the approval doesn’t cover for now, that’s the reason why we’ve shifted the sale of these forms to any date from first of January.
“It is a really good move from the national government according to our recommendations.
“Even though we’re returning cash to the coffers of the Federal Government, our principal objective isn’t merely to make money.
People to raise that money and pay for the forms, although JAMB form is one of the cheapest in the entire world,” he said.
Ndukwe also stated that the 2018/ 2019 admissions had so far been Provided to 470,000 candidates while adding that the procedure, was ongoing.
He added that the board could fully implement the Central Entry Processing System (CAPS) in its subsequent procedure of admissions because it was”the best thing that will happen to education in Nigeria.”
“If any child is qualified, CAPS system will guarantee he or she is admitted.
“CAPS will develop into full operation from 2019. You do not need to know Anyone to have admission and that’s our mission today,” he added.
